“Well aren’t you just changing one addiction for another?” D. Seidel (One Year)

crossAs I mentioned I’ve been on Suboxone for over a year but I’m finding that it never fails, when I tell someone that I’m on Suboxone and tell them why they almost always come back and ask. “Well aren’t you just changing one addiction for another?” That seems to be a real common question but let me tell you as a 30 year addict…NOT in the LEAST bit! It’s so hard to explain to someone who hasn’t gone through it and who hasn’t tried this kind of treatment but I can honestly say that I’m no more ‘addicted’ to Suboxone than I am to my high blood pressure medication. When you are knee deep in addiction, especially to opiates, your whole entire life revolves around using, from the time you get up until you sleep 99 percent of your life is dedicated to keeping the chase going. With Suboxone or Bunavail you’re completely free from that and life gets back to living. The only thing I can compare it to is when I used Chantix to stop smoking. When I took Chantix, it just took away my cravings for smoking. I didn’t have to plan my work day around my smoke breaks, I didn’t have to make sure I had enough cigarettes to get me through the day, didn’t have to make sure my clothes didn’t stink when I went into a meeting etc. Suboxone or Bunavail have a similar affect on me, I don’t crave, I don’t have to worry about having enough to get me through, don’t have to worry about how my eyes look. Life is great now. So to all those who say it’s trading one drug or addiction for another, you have no idea. 🙂

I’ve been going to TimeWise and seeing Dr. Locketz for just over a year now and I can honestly say it’s been the best year I’ve had in decades. A year ago I was in so deep I never thought I would ever get out and my only option I saw was the grave. I went through treatment 7 times, attended hundreds of meetings, read multiple books, had sponsors, and basically tried everything to get straight and nothing worked. Through all those years I never heard of Suboxone to treat opiate addiction once until by chance I was told about it by a friend. From day one of Dr. Locketz treatment my life was changed. Cravings were gone, my energy came back, my head was clear, I didn’t even think about using anymore. It didn’t take long before I realized I had my life back. I would recommend TimeWise to anyone who wants to live a normal life again. The whole staff here is outstanding and will do everything they can to help. I haven’t been this happy in 20 years. Thank you Dr. Locketz and the staff at TimeWise.
